Israel and Palestine Conflict

UNGA

The Israel and Palestine conflict remains one of the most enduring and complex issues on the United Nations General Assembly agenda. Rooted in competing historical claims, territorial disputes, and questions of sovereignty, the conflict has continued to generate cycles of violence, humanitarian crises, and regional instability. In recent years, escalating tensions, settlement expansion, and repeated breakdowns in peace negotiations have further diminished prospects for a two-state solution.

The humanitarian situation, particularly in Gaza and the West Bank, has drawn renewed international concern over civilian protection, access to essential services, and violations of international humanitarian law. The UNGA must address the roles of international mediation, accountability mechanisms, and multilateral diplomacy in advancing peace. Delegates are tasked with balancing national positions, security concerns, and human rights obligations while exploring pathways toward sustainable peace, regional cooperation, and long-term stability.
